INTRODUCTION ABOUT BPL
- Broadband over Power Lines is a technology in which, broadband is delivered to the last mile by injecting the broadband signal into the electrical network as opposed to the traditional method of last mile broadband delivery through ADSL/VDSL/Ethernet thus enabling us to provide the last mile delivery to any area/building within minimal time requirements without disrupting the infrastructure of the buildings as we do not have to carry out the cumbersome work of laying down the fiber to all the end users homes neither have to look after its periodic maintenance. The end users are provided with simple plug in CPE which when plugged into an electrical socket in a BPL enabled premise makes the broadband signals available to the user through the Ethernet port available on the CPE.
- BPL (Broadband Over Power-line) is a unique technology that provides broadband access over low and medium voltage power lines to end users without expensive last mile cost .In order to make use of BPL, subscribers use neither a PHONE , CABLE nor a SATELLITE connection.Instead, a subscriber installs a modem that plugs into an ordinary wall outlet and pays a subscription fee similar to those paid for other types of Internet service.
- Will bring With this technology vast networking in rural areas is possible. Will facilitate access to the information highway to the people in the remotest parts the country.
the world to the doorsteps of the under-served and farmers in rural area, using existing infrastructure.
This technology also enables utilities to have a “Smart Grid” and achieve AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) as well.
INTERNET READY BUILDING
Making multi tenant unit (MTU) ready for high-speed broadband services using IP with the entire required infrastructure, network, operation, and service function.
Internet service has become the next utility after electricity, telephone, water and gas.
By the deployment of the BPL technology the state utility will have a lot of advantages. A few of them are mentioned below:
- Automatic Meter Reading.
- Demand Prediction.
- Detection and diagnosis of events at capacitors and regulators.
- Distribution transformers overload analysis.
- Line testing.
- Outage localization and fault characterization.
- Power Loss Detection.
- SCADA delivery
- Substation monitoring.
- URD outage diagnosis.
- Intelligent Streetlight Control & Management Systems
